This rather short album was extended with two recordings from the 1983 Montreal Festival. In spite of this, Decoy offered a good balance between the dominant funk that subsequently took over and the jazz tradition, reflected by Scofield’s angularities, Marsalis’ freedom of tone, and the breadth of Miles’ playing that had recovered its full power. Original issue: Columbia LP FC 38991 and CD CK 38991 in April 1984 Producer: Miles Davis Co-Producer: Robert Irving III Associate Producer: Vincent Wilburn, Jr. Engineer: Ronald F. Lorman

You're Under Arrest is a 1985 album recorded by Miles Davis that saw Miles mix pop tunes with political statements about racism, pollution and war. Among other tracks, the album features Davis' interpretations of two contemporary pop songs: Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" and Michael Jackson's "Human Nature". During the recording sessions, bass player Darryl Jones introduced Sting to his longtime idol Miles Davis

'DECOY'' (Columbia), the new album from Miles Davis, is the first disk since his middle- and late-1970's ''retirement'' that amounts to more than a string of bluesy solos and riff patterns. Mr. Davis's stylings used to be billed as ''Directions in Music,'' and ''Decoy'' lives up to that designation by molding individual solos, themes, backgrounds, and overall sound into a coherent whole greater than the sum of its parts

Miles Davis - Decoy Original recording, Import. This is an album that gives little ground to commercial success. If you can imagine souped-up, mechanized funk with tones of Weather Report then you are probably close to where Miles is heading on this album. Think cop -movie themes with a dose of paranoia attached, that's the basic musical atmosphere of this set. I personally really enjoy this album, but it's not for everyone, admittedly.

LP (Item 478575) Columbia, 1984 - Condition: Near Mint-. LP, Vinyl record album. What can we say? This is the ultimate Miles Davis album – the one that includes so many songs that we've heard way too much in Starbucks, in retail stores, or at a friend's house who claims to be a "jazz expert", but is really a yuppie dilettante. Yet somehow, over all the years,.
