Although The Dedication Song was written by Russ Regan, Freddy notes that all the characters referenced were family and friends. Mr. Regan had an extensive career in the music business; beginning as a promo man for Motown in the early 60s and including stints as President of 20th Century and Uni Records. He was also the music consultant for fiolms such as Chariots Of Fire and Flashdance.
