The Very Best of Rainbow is a greatest hits compilation album by the British hard rock band Rainbow. It features material ranging from 1975's Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow to their 1983 release, Bent Out of Shape. The front cover comes from the inside of the first Rainbow album, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, and is actually a picture of Ritchie Blackmore playing with his previous band, Deep Purple.

About half the songs I really like, the other half are new or so-so, but this is typical for me, even for a best of or greatest hits collection. Before I bought this CD, I knew the popular hits, . Man on the Silver Mountain, but I found some other songs that I like that I hadn’t really heard of, . When I listen to this CD, I skip a few tracks, but really enjoy many of them, including a few new songs that I have added to my rotation.
