Greatest Hits is a compilation and the third greatest hits album from The Jam, released in 1991. It includes all of the band's eighteen hit singles plus "Precious" (which was released as a double A-side along with "Town Called Malice"). It includes two singles, "That's Entertainment" and "Just Who Is the 5 O'Clock Hero?", which made the UK charts without ever being released there, they charted after being heavily imported from Europe. It has a companion album of rarities, titled Extras
Sound - 9 'Greatest Hits' contains just Jam hits and no unreleased songs. But there are two hits missing, which were 'A Bomb In Wardour Street' and 'The Dreams Of Children'. A snapshot of the video of 'Start! ' is on the front cover. A lot of Jam albums including this one start of with their debut hit 'In The City', because it's such a brilliant song to start of with. Despite it almost made it to n., 'The Bitterist Pill (I Ever Had To Swallow)' was The Jam's worst song on this album, because there was a lot of orchestral backing in it. I rated the sound 9/10, but if it had 'A Bomb In Wardour Street', 'The Dreams Of Children' and possibly more songs, I would've rated it a 10.
Greatest Hits covers nearly the same ground as Snap!, with all the tracks but "Just Who Is the Five O'Clock Hero" included on the previous compilation. Granted, "That's Entertainment" is presented in the album version and "Funeral Pyre" in its original mix, but the album isn't quite as strong as Snap! Nevertheless, it has all of the Jam's hit singles, making it a thoroughly entertaining record, as well as an effective introduction to the group.
Snap! is a greatest hits album by The Jam, released in 1983, one year after the group disbanded. The double-album includes all sixteen of the band's UK singles, plus some B-sides, album tracks and rarities. Town Called Malice This Is the Modern World is the second studio album by British band The Jam, released in November 1977. The album was released less than seven months after their debut album, In the City, and reached No. 22 in the UK Albums Chart. All Mod Cons is the third studio album by British band The Jam, released in 1978 by Polydor Records.
