Tristania's World of Glass is so different that any other album I've ever heard. I went through a sort of Gothic Metal phase in my life, and picked up every single Gothic Metal band I could find. I heard all of this praise about a certain band called Tristania, and decided to give them a listen. I got a rather solid album, gave it about five runs through, and forgot about it a month or so later. About a year or so later, I heard about Tristania again. I had completely forgotten that I even owned Widow's Weeds and downloaded World of Glass as though it were an album of a band I'd never heard of before. I played it and all I could think was 'WOW!'. Even to this day, at least a year or two after I first stumbled upon this jewel, the tracks blow my mind, and seem to find on my MP3 Player.

World Of Glass ‎(CD, Album). OMG! This is THE BEST album of Tristania and THE BEST gothic symphonic metal album EVER! There was only one Tristania's album released on vinyl and I'm so happy that it was exactly this album!! THE BEST. EVER, EVER and FOREVER!!! Reply Notify me 1 Helpful.

Redirected from World Of Glass (album)). World of Glass is the third full-length album by Norwegian band Tristania. The album was released on 25 September 2001 by Napalm Records. As a result of Morten Veland leaving the band, the harsh vocals were sung by Ronny Thorsen, vocalist of Trail of Tears. Vibeke Stene – vocals, choir. Anders Høyvik Hidle – guitars, harsh vocals on "The Shining Path" and "Tender Trip on Earth". Rune Østerhus – bass.

Ashes is the fourth full-length album by the Norwegian band Tristania. The album registers a change in the band's musical style, leaving out the choirs and initiating a heavier sound, with a focus on darker lyrics and the pure vocals of Vibeke Stene. This album is the only one Kjetil Ingebrethsen performed harsh vocals on. All music and lyrics by Tristania, except where noted. Libre" – 4:30 (lyrics by Kjartan Hermansen). Talk about Tristania - World Of Glass

Yeah. This album like a fine wine only gets better with age. Between the blending of the many instruments, playing styles, and not to mention the wide variety of singers and vocal styles from metal grunting to choral this musically listens like a great tragic Italian Opera. And I never even heard of any native English speaker able to write lyrics that speak so directly to me.Unfortunately this entire genre of music is deader than a Monty Python Norwegian Blue as of 2019 but I think this album stands the test of time better than any of the others made when it was still alive and kicking . Perhaps Gothic metal is only pining for the fjords of Stavanger but we'll always have our vinyl copies, all that PVC stuff isn't going anywhere for a thousand years.
Anyone interested,it has been reissued on vinyl along with Beyond The Veil from Floga Records a few days ago.
A little disappointed, this reissue without bonus track 'The Modern End'
this album is a symphonic masterpiece , its one of the best albums ever made in this genre theatre of tragedy on a mad rush type sound ,,,amazing melodies and production
