It passed into the church architecture of the Roman world and was adapted in different ways as a feature of cathedral architecture. These buildings copied pagan tombs and were square, cruciform with shallow projecting arms or polygonal. They were roofed by domes which came to symbolize heaven. It introduced the baroque style into architecture. Corresponding with the Society's theological task as the spearhead of the Counter-Reformation, the new style soon became a triumphant feature in Catholic church architecture. After the second world war, modern materials and techniques such as concrete and metal panels were introduced in Norwegian church construction.

The tombs of past bishops and famous saints are often found in side chapels (2, 3). In the later Middle Ages, the wealthy would pay for private chapels to be built where their families could say mass in private. Top. Salisbury Cathedral. Little remains of the vivid colour that would have transformed the cathedral's bare stone into glorious spectacle. Many of the statues had their heads pulled off when an 18th century restorer accidentally put the heads of the male bishops onto the bodies of the female statues.

Hereafter is the second single from Architects’ upcoming eighth studio album Holy Hell set for release on 9th November. The song is about how the band managed to cope during the years following guitarist Tom Searle’s death in 2016 after his battle with melanoma. The song has been teased by the release of an unexplained video on Architects’ social media pages two days prior to the single’s release.

Turn left here, then go straight ahead for a kilometre and it's on the left. If you look on your left-hand corner as we turn this corner, you'll see Big Ben. My grandma hasn't driven since she (has?) had an accident last year. I love visiting foreign places, seeing the sights and learning about other cultures. During the 70s, manu British people started to go on holiday to Spain. While you're in London you should take a tour to the houses of Parliament. I've always dreamt of visiting China. The travel agency is arranging for us to stay at a really nice hotel
