Buck Jones & His Rhythm Riders, founded in 1978, released their debut album Crazy Chicken Boogie on EMI in 1979, and both this album and the follow-up Explosive Rock-A-Billy stood just a few copies shy of the gold disc award in the height of the 1970s’ rockabilly craze. As one of the top Finnish bands of the genre, Buck & Riders toured Finland and Scandinavia on a regular basis. In addition to their hectic touring schedule, Buck and Teddy Guitar visited Ronny Weiser’s studio in Los Angeles and recorded an album called California ’81 with Rollin’ Rock Records crew. If you fast-forward some 30 years, you’ll find Buck back on the Rebel rockabilly track with his new album Rockabilly Train, to be released on May 29th 2015.

Baby 81 is the fourth studio album by American rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club The album features a harder, more raw sound compared with their previous record Howl. It was also a studio comeback for drummer Nick Jago who was unable to participate during the recordings of Howl (other than the last track recorded during the sessions, 'Promise')

Most of Jones’ guitar tracks for 10,000 Days were recorded with him playing through three or more amps simultaneously. Each amp head was paired with a separate 4x12 cabinet, and three different mics - always a Shure SM57 and Sennheiser 421, plus a third mic that varied depending on what Barresi thought was needed - were used on each cabinet. Complex layering of guitar tracks like this can result in incomprehensible mush in the wrong hands, but Jones and Barresi tweaked each amp’s EQ and gain to its individual strengths, balancing each element accordingy. As a result, the record’s compiled tone sounds much more harmonically rich, detailed and massive - particularly in the midrange - than any single amp could ever sound.

In his early film appearances, he was billed as Charles Jones. Charles Frederick Gebhart was born on the outskirts of Vincennes, Indiana, on December 12, 1891 (some sources indicate December 4, 1889, but Jones' marriage license and his military records confirm the 1891 date.
