Cees and Thomas Tol were part of the band BZN for a long time. Cees was even one of the founders. Thomas was also a composer of the Volendam group and in that capacity introduced the famous 'eelsound'. Titles such as Mon Amour, Sevilla, Pearlydumm, Just an illusion, Amore and If I say the words all reached the upper reaches of the Dutch charts. In 1988 the Tol brothers stepped out of BZN shortly after each other to continue together. Hereafter followed was the hit Sedalia and a series of in total five albums that all achieved the Album Top 100. They were also popular abroad, especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and South Africa.

Tol & Tol is een popduo, bestaande uit de Volendamse broers Cees Tol en Thomas Tol. Begin 1990 stonden zij twee weken op de eerste plaats van de Nationale Hitparade met het nummer Eleni. Maar ook werd het een hit in het buitenland. Het nummer bereikte zelfs de Amerikaanse hitlijsten.

Album chart presence was even stronger, without interruption from 1977 to 2008. BZN's big breakthrough started with the song "Mon Amour" (1976), which held the hit parade ranking for over 5 weeks.
