After the exceptional "Buried Again", in which the Dreadful Shadows defined their personal sound flirting between the gothic rock essence and the metal aggressiveness, they released during the autumn of 1997 their third official album, "Beyond the Maze", their most complete work filled with utterly inspired and high-quality compositions, heavy dark atmosphere, bleak emotions and deeply esoteric and poetic lyrics dealing with.

Import, Extended Play. Beyond the Maze is a masterpiece. There's no other way to put it. Sound-wise, it's gothic rock with heavy guitars, emotional vocals and beautiful symphonic arrangements. all of these bands ought to be ashamed to use classical instrumentation after hearing this. Everything fits together so perfectly and leaves you wanting more. Powerful vocal melodies, dense atmospheres and masterful songwriting make this an amazing album.
