Altered State is the second studio album by British progressive metal band Tesseract, released on 27 May 2013 on Century Media Records. The album's songs cover a variety of topics, with many referring to violence and drug use. There also several noise-based and experimental songs. Several songs consist solely of a vocal delivery of the title on top of noise, such as "The Tokyo Subway Gassing" and "The Star of David". The album is divided into several movements, some of which are titled.
