The World is Yours is the fifth solo album by Ian Brown, released on 15 October 2007. In making the album, Brown enlisted the help of The Smiths and Happy Mondays bassists Andy Rourke and Paul Ryder respectively. He also sought the services of Paul McCartney to play bass on one of the tracks, but failed as McCartney was too busy at the time. Meanwhile, Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook appeared on the album. Sinead O Connor also sings on Illegal Attacks and Some Folks Are Hollow.

As Ian Brown is not exactly renowned for his lack of self-belief, The Greatest is an appropriately egotistical title for the first compilation from the Madchester scene's golden boy. Brown is always more consistent as a singles artist, and so this 2005 collection, which gathers 15 tracks from his patchy first four albums, is perhaps the ideal showcase for the former Stone Roses frontman's talents.

Ian Brown has released a brand new single, ‘First World Problems’, his first solo material in nine years. The single precedes his new album, Ripples, which will be released on 1 March, 2019. The iconic Stone Roses frontman produced Ripples as well as writing the majority of tracks on the album. The record was digitally mastered by Bob Ludwig in New York, while the vinyl was mastered by Chris Bellman in LA. Ian Brown has retained complete creative control of the project – producing the album, directing the video – which is set for release shortly – as well as creating the artwork himself and playing guitar, drums and a host of other instruments throughout the record. Aside from his work with the influential Stone Roses, Brown has previously released six studio albums, including the acclaimed gold-selling titles Unfinished Money Business and Golden Greats.

Talk about Ian Brown - The Greatest

Sennnel
One of the worst, most disappointing LPs in my collection. Lots of distortion - especially on My Star and Golden Gaze, which suffers from some of the worst IGD I've heard.
