Róbert Mandel was originally an instrument maker/restaurator, and he founded Mandel Quartet in 1981, for playing early music. On this LP musicians were gathered from various folk bands, like Muzsikás, Ökrös, Sebő, Vujicsics Ensemble. One side for Hungarian, one for Bulgarian, Polish, Ukrainian and Romanian folk music, in an amiable interpretation.
