In the Requiem Symphony, Hanson comes equally close to profundity and pretentiousness, but at least Schwarz and the Seattle are convinced. But by the time they get to the "Maypole Dances" from Merry Mount, Hanson has long overstayed his welcome and the players just seem to be going through the motions. Delos' digital sound is warm, clear, and true as all but the best stereo recordings.
