Quinteplus was formed in early 70s by two musicians from Jorge López Ruiz band, ie. drummer Carlos "Pocho" Lapouble (also member of El Cuarteto Del Chivo Borraro and Gato Barbieri), followed by trumpeter Gustavo Bergalli. The band was a short lived jazz unit that grew out of Agrupación Nuevo Jazz (New Jazz Collective), a loose organization in the late '60s that provided an open environment to experiment with Argentine folk genres in a jazz mode.

This set contains the only studio album they ever released (in 1972) and a a great bonus: a complete live at a gig from the same year, unreleased until now.
