I've seen Centro-matic about 10 times since around 2000, including at least 3 or 4 shows at the Mercury Lounge in NYC. They put on a consistently great & very musical performance that rocks. After nearly two decades together, beloved alt-country outfit Centro-Matic announced that their December 2014 tour dates would be their last - meaning fans have one last chance to see them in action. The band's guitar-heavy, Americana-infused sound is rich with nostalgia yet full of contemporary edge, making for a dynamic concert experience that ranges from grunge-influenced tracks like "Atlanta" to modern rock numbers like "Iso-Residue".

Centro-Matic's fifth album (and first under the band alias South San Gabriel) recalls the nervous anticipation that comes between snowstorms in the high plains, imploring the listener to get out for some 20-degree fresh air while you can before the next 16 inches arrive.
