The Buddha of Suburbia is a 1993 'soundtrack album' by David Bowie inspired by the four-part television serial of the same name originally shown on BBC2 (itself adapted from the novel of the same name by Hanif Kureishi). Although classified as a 'soundtrack album', the title track is the only song that featured in the programme's actual soundtrack

After uneven commercial success in the late 1970s, Bowie had UK number ones with the 1980 single "Ashes to Ashes", its parent album Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), and "Under Pressure", a 1981 collaboration with Queen. He reached his commercial peak in 1983 with Let's Dance; the album's title track topped both UK and US charts. He was soon receiving lessons from baritone saxophonist Ronnie Ross. He received a serious injury at school in 1962 when his friend George Underwood punched him in the left eye during a fight over a girl.

The Noise is the 20th studio album by the English singer and songwriter Peter Hammill. As the title implies, the album is a collection of uptempo rock songs, in sharp contrast to Hammill's previous album, Fireships, which consisted mainly of ballads. The album was announced on its sleeve as "Number 1 in the A Loud series" (Fireships had similarly been labelled as "Number 1 in the BeCalm series").

Many have waited 15 years for it. An album Chicago recorded in 1993 finally goes on sale Tuesday. An album the band recorded in 1993 finally goes on sale Tuesday, long after a squabble between the group and its former record company shelved the project. The album's release by Rhino Records has set off a wave of excitement on Chicago's fan club Web site. I am waaaaay excited about this," said a fan nicknamed "sprout. Chicago became a pop music juggernaut. Cetera left in 1985 after "Chicago 17," the group's biggest-selling album, and was replaced by Jason Scheff, son of Elvis Presley's former bassist, Jerry Scheff. But little changed as the band continued to roll out a familiar string of pop ballads - topped by the million-selling "Look Away" in 1988. By the early 1990s, however, producer Wolf was happy to oblige band members after learning that they wanted to return to their roots.
