Like its predecessor, Chrome, it was produced by Gil Norton. Judy Staring at the Sun" featured guest vocals by Tanya Donelly. On the single mix, Donelly performed the song's chorus and second verse; on the album, however, her vocals appeared only in the chorus, and all verses were sung by Rob Dickinson

Happy Days ‎(Cass, Album, Promo). There are some similar qualities on Happy Days, their 3rd release, but it's mostly a new direction and not one I was particularly fond of. I like Heal, Empty Head, Receive, and Eat My Dust You Insensitive Fuck. However, too many tracks come across to me as (hard) rock cliches or just corny. Waydown, Little Muscle, Fizzy Love) I was always a bit disappointed that they kept playing Little Muscle in their live sets while shelving much better tracks from Ferment and Chrome

A good percentage of Catherine Wheel's fans might have chucked Happy Days out of their players after the unleashing of Rob Dickinson's David Coverdale-like "oooh" during the brain bash of "God Inside My Head. In the event that the listener had the open-mindedness required to tackle the lengthy record in whole, they would have heard more Headbanger's Ball vocalisms, wanky guitar solos, and some lyrical passages that would lead admirers of Ferment and Chrome to wonder what happened. Diversity is the buzzword for Catherine Wheel – from the rhythmic intensity of Waydown (the first single) to Eat My Dust You Insensitive Fuck, an eight-minute study in dichotomy. It’s a slow-burning ballad, running contrary to its angry, full-fisted title. It’s something that we enjoy doing, giving people one thing and maybe underneath the surface there’s something else going on, surprising people, Dickinson said, adding that the song came to him one day while he was bathing. They fell from grace in England but discovered more open-minded ears in the United States. The foursome’s second album, the more turbulent Chrome, and the swirling single Crank, were tops in alternative-rock circles throughout 1993. Since then, Dickinson said, he has no idea how Catherine Wheel is regarded back home.
