Stillwater was an American band, based in Warner Robins, Georgia, that played Southern rock and was active from 1973 to '84. They released two albums on Capricorn Records, Stillwater (1977) (the self-titled debut contains "Mind Bender," which peaked at on the Billboard Hot 100 in February of '78) and I Reserve the Right (1978), before the label folded in '79. Drummer David Heck joined Stillwater in 1981; they released the album Runnin' Free in 1996. Michael Causey – guitar.

Stillwater was an American band of the 1970s, which played Southern rock with a folk flair. Their song Mindbender charted in the top 100 singles in 1978. The band existed from 1973 to 1982 and was based in Warner Robins, Georgia. They released two albums on Capricorn Records, Stillwater (1977), which included the single "Mind Bender", and I Reserve The Right! (1979). They opened for such bands as the Atlanta Rhythm Section and the Charlie Daniels Band.

Braendo
Stillwater is the first album of the group of the same name. This year (2017) I'm celebrating 40 years of enjoying it! It's always been in my top ten list of albums and I'm surprised it hasn't had wider acclaim and/or recognition. It's a highly skilled set of eight songs. They range in style from April Love, a ballad, to the spectatcular musical dynamite of Sam's Jam. Inbetween there's a brilliant display of songwriting and musicial genius on display. I bought this when it came out (1977) at a record shop in downtown Wolverhampton, England for two pounds and forty-nine pence based on the intriguing album cover... and that turned out to be the best album purchase that I ever made that was 'off the cuff'!It's marketed as blues platter but the emphasis is on the guitar work and the whole album actually comes off as pretty heavy Boston style rock and roll! If you can still get it, then you should. You won't be disappointed.
