Ellipse - Ellipse flac album

Ellipse is the third studio album from British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap. After returning from a round the world writing trip, Heap completed the album at her childhood home in Essex, converting her old playroom in the basement into a studio. The album got its name from the distinctive elliptical shape of the house. The album's title was confirmed by Heap via her Twitter page on 25 April 2009, after being leaked onto the internet on 23 April

It took seven years for Imogen Heap to follow her debut album I Megaphone with her breakthrough Speak for Yourself (during which time Heap was in Frou Frou with Guy Sigsworth), so the four-year gap between it and its follow-up, Ellipse, feels relatively short.

Complete your Imogen Heap collection. Imogen recorded this album in the house that she grew up in, almost everything was written, performed, recorded, engineered (and everything in between) by herself, in the childhood playroom which she had converted into a recording studio. The entire process was documented by Justine Pearsall for a 90-minute "making of" DVD. The technical work on this album won Imogen an engineering Grammy in 2010, and one of the tracks was nominated for another 2010 Grammy.

Ellipse as a whole is more minimalistic than iMegaphone or Speak For Yourself but there are points at which the direction simply sees her removing nuances without replacing them. That said, her third full-length album holds a ton of gorgeous moments - the enchanting piano instrumental The Fire, for example, which sits atop the sound of crackling flames and is a genuinely beautiful interlude
