Born To Luv Ya (Love Mix). Born To Love Ya ‎(12", W/Lbl). I just got this 12" and it's the first time I hear a different version of this song other than the album version "Born To Luv Ya (1992)" (I always did wonder what the 1992 stood for, and now I know). The 3 versions are all very similar to one another, and while I prefer the 1992 version, I'm gonna give these a proper listen very soon.

Rozalla's first UK single "Born to Luv Ya" became a club hit in 1990. The singer's career really took off when the dance anthem "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" reached number 6 in the UK Singles Chart in 1991. It became a Top 10 hit in many European countries soon afterwards and reached the Billboard Top 40 the following year. It remains her biggest hit to date. It was later included on her debut album Everybody's Free, which peaked at number 20 in the UK Albums Chart and went silver. She enjoyed four UK Top 40 hits in 1994/95, including her rendition of "I Love Music", the theme song to the film Carlito's Way.

Rozalla was born on 18 March 1964 in Ndola, a town in Zambia. When she was a teenager she moved to Zimbabwe with her family. As a young girl she used to skip school to play with a band. Later she sang at fashion shows and soon became a national celebrity. In 1990 their first single, the dance song Born To Luv Ya, was released on the small label Pulse 8 unfortunately without any success. Not discouraged the Band Of Gypsies wrote and produced some more songs for Rozalla and her second single Faith (In the Power of Love) was her first song to chart in the . 2009 : Rozalla released an album entitled Brand New Version on February 2nd. She is currently supporting Billy Ocean on his 41 date UK 2009 Tour. Her hit Everybody's Free was covered by Andy Whitby & Matt Lee feat.

I don't know if I would classify these as electronic music, but I guess for 1990 that would be the case, but they are a bit mid-tempo. I was glad to hear that several of the trademark hooks and sounds from the 1992 versions originated from these original versions. Are the Afro-Tech mixes the same as these but differently named, or actual different versions?

Love Mix is a pure example of Classic House - This is even advance electronic music, samplers, drum machines... raw synths.

Absolutely the queen of the live PA. Dont ignore this style of early house/rave. Even the breakbeat heads from 1990-1992 have always got a hands in the air moment for a Rozalla track. Born to luv ya is my fave of them all.
