Back In The Shtetl Again. Cooks For Tante Barbara. Der Bloyfoygl Of Happiness.

Sucking the 70’s – Back in the Saddle is a follow-up album to the 2002 compilation Sucking the 70's. It was released in 2006 by Small Stone Records. Like the original, it features stoner rock bands covering songs from the 1970s. Are You Ready" - Sasquatch (originally performed by Grand Funk Railroad). Crazy Horses" - Puny Human (originally performed by The Osmonds). Red Hot Mama" - Clutch & Five Horse Johnson (originally performed by Funkadelic).

Klezamir first two CDs, Klezamir Cooks for Tante Barbara, and Back in the Shtetl Again, met with critical acclaim and solidified the group’s stature as one of New England's top Klezmer groups. In the summer of 2000, Klezamir became affiliated with Young Audiences of Massachusetts and began the production of its third CD. Klezamir's 4th CD came out in 2006. Additional Booking Notes.

Shawn Weaver was the reed player in the Seattle-based Mazeltones for nearly a decade before forming this new band. On clarinet he has the warm dark tone of Artie Shaw and a sure sense of swing. The only really bad thing about 'Back in the Saddle' is that it's been four long years since it's ground breaking older brother, 'Sucking the 70s' came out. Hell, I could easily see one of these volumes coming out every year, never mind the work involved. Granted, this is not the ground breaker that the first one was, back in '02. How could it be? But as a document in a continuing series showcasing superior musician's re-working and re-interpretation of classic heavy 70s grooves, it makes perfect sense.
