Second best? Probably another Eddie Condon group issued under George Wettling's name, a super session from 1950. Shame that lack of space denied one title (Memphis Blues) to be included as this is first-rate material. This CD contains some really classic Dixieland from some of the Kings of the New Orleans and Chicago styles of Jazz. The recording quality is good.

Welcome to the Dixieland Jazz & Our Kind Of Music group! What kind of music? Jazz in the flavors. Barker had made it his mission to remind New Orleanians that jazz was their sacred birthright, and he founded a youth group that turned reluctant children into the jazz leaders we know today. An elite group of those musicians now reunites in The Appel Room for a soulful tribute to their mentor. Music director Dr. Michael White is a virtuoso on clarinet-an essential voice in New Orleans jazz
