Temporarily out of stock. The earliest recordings here are from the early 1960s - Concertos 1, 3, and 5 with Szell and the Columbia Symphony. Around the same time, Colin Davis was recording the concertos (and the Sinfonia Concertante) with Grumiaux for Philips, and on the whole, I prefer Philips's warmer and more refined sound. Grumiaux too plays with lovely tone, fine focus, and even more of a spring in his gait than Stern and Szell, though on their own terms, Stern/Szell are very attractive performances
