Natural History: The Very Best of Talk Talk is a 1990 greatest hits album by Talk Talk. It collects songs that the band released under EMI between 1982 and 1988. The compilation spent 21 weeks on the UK Albums Chart, peaking at and went on to sell over one million copies worldwide. The North American version appended two live bonus tracks. A companion collection of the band's music videos was released in July 1990.

Talk Talk went from being New Romantic clones to experimental jazz-esque pioneers in the space of less than 7 years - as recorded here. The bonus of having their (frankly excellent, if mildly disturbing) videos finally on DVD makes this an utterly essential, and extremely good value purchase. Most are directed by Tim Pope, who focussed on great ideas and mood, rather than special effects. It's My Life is a real belter! Enjoy this album. Natural History is a must for all fans of Talk Talk, and those who appreciate beautiful, quality music.

Mark Hollis with Talk Talk on Channel 4’s now-defunct music programme The Tube in 1986. Having parted acrimoniously with EMI and signed to Polydor, who put them on the venerable jazz label Verve, Talk Talk released their final album, Laughing Stock, in 1991.
