My name is Laura Wolk. I am 14 years old and I live in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Independence means doing things on your own without help. I want to go to Illinois, Japan, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Arkansas. And I will take these trips by myself. This summer I am going to the Colorado Center for the Blind programs for middle schoolers. I went last year too. They teach me how to be independent.

Freedom means many different things to many people, but to me it means I can live in a country that believes in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I mean this is the Land of the Free. However, these are things that not everyone can experience. I was born in Cuba but I came when I was four years old. Maybe if I would have stayed longer I would have probably not understood why so many people want to come to America. It never occurred to my mom and I that we would end up here, but things changed and here we are now fifteen years later. Think about it- what would we do if we did not have the ability to say No, use ambition, or be creative? How about not being able to attend school, choose our own spouses, or work wherever we desired?

Securing freedom from fear and freedom from want is very likely to entail some collective, organized action. That kind of activity is often carried out most effectively and efficiently (although, admittedly, not perfectly) by the government. If we want to live in a society where freedoms are protected and where the opportunity to exercise freedom is assured, we have to rely on some form of governance. Freedom from want ? Are you kidding me? How exactly do you stop people from wanting things? Answer- you can’t. It means a government that is bigger than it should be. It is not outdated, and it is not rightist propaganda, to believe that it is bigger than it should be, Probably much bigger.

American beliefs and values. What among all of its regional and cultural diversity gives America its national character and enables its citizens to affirm their common identity as Americans? Clearly, having a particular race or creed or lifestyle docs not identify one as American. Americans commonly regard their society as the freest and best in the world. They like to think of their country as a welcoming haven for those longing for freedom and opportunity. They arc proud to point out that even today America's immigration offices are flooded with hopeful applicants who expect the chance for a better life. The American Dream is popularized in countless stories and in the portrayal of the good life in advertising and on TV shows. It teachers Americans to believe that contentment can be reached through the virtues of thrift, hard work, family loyalty and faith in the free enterprise system.

Freedom from Want, also known as The Thanksgiving Picture or I'll Be Home for Christmas, is the third of the Four Freedoms series of four oil paintings by American artist Norman Rockwell. The works were inspired by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union Address, known as Four Freedoms. The painting was created in November 1942 and published in the March 6, 1943 issue of The Saturday Evening Post

For freedom means that we get good results, not bad results which further trap us. When truly free, you will be in a good condition and will always be happy. If freedom is just obtaining many bad habits, what is the use of it if you just harm yourself? The result is that you also have the freedom to kill yourself. Many people think of freedom just as winning vainglory and flattering their vanity. Actually, such a person cannot really get good things. People everywhere dream of freedom. Children might think of freedom as a license to do whatever they want to do and there wouldn’t be any restrictions on them. Teenagers might think of freedom as being able to go to college all by themselves, carrying and showing off their expensive mobile phones and a license of skipping lectures. I believe that freedom has both good and bad effects. It can either make a person or break a person.

Similar to the old Soviet lifestyle, let's remember what the typical Venezuelan family of our times worries about on a daily basis. Food to put on the table and the safety of their children. They wake up in the morning wondering how many meals they can afford that day, where to get them from, and how to pay for them. We, the lucky ones to live in a relatively free-market system, don't have these kinds of worries.

Freedom lets us talk how we want and explain about yourself to be how you want yourself. To me, freedom means to be able to go to school, walk around, and do almost anything without worrying about the safety of yourself and those you love. Unlike other countries, you don’t have to wonder whether you are going to live through the day. Technically, freedom means ‘the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint,’ but here in the United States of America, it means so much more. Choosing my own moral compass lets me believe what I think is right and what I think is wrong. I believe we have an amazing privilege to have freedom. I know our freedom did not come easy.

Freedom means getting to work at a job of my choice. Some countries give you a certain job whether you like it or not. Freedom means saying what you’d like. You can voice your opinion on many things like politics, and you won’t get into trouble. Freedom means getting to go to where ever you want. You can go out of the country, or just stay in the awesome . How do we have freedom? We have freedom because of the brave and willing people who go out and put their life on the line just so we can talk and do what we want. Many people do not recognize the military for all of their hard work. I think that people in the military should definitely get more recognition. I mean, we sit around, talk about whatever comes to our mind, and do what ever we want. And we are able to do what we want because of the military. That is just awesome and a blessing.
