The album compiles tracks from previous vinyl-only tracks from Austin’s At War With Freak Folk 10″, and his splits with Chuck Ragan, the Takers, and Frank Turner. An unreleased track rounds out the 11 track album. I absolutely love these songs as the At War With Freak Folk tracks were the first new tracks I heard from Austin prior to putting out Somebody Loves You. Between you and me, I favor a number of these tracks due to their raw, warm recording qualities

Shortly after recording a split album, "Bristle Ridge", with Chuck Ragan, Austin Lucas set out to start recording demos for what would eventually become "Somebody Loves You". The demos were pretty raw, but there was a magic to the recordings so it was decided that Austin would enlist German label, Hometown Caravan, to do a small pressing on 10 inch of these songs. That release, "At War With Freak Folk" sold out quickly and could be the most highly sought after piece in most people's Austin Lucas collections
