Redirected from Wendy & the Rocketts). Wendy Anne-Marie Stapleton (born 8 July 1954) is an Australian pop/rock singer-songwriter, and musical theatre and television actress. Stapleton has performed as a backing singer, session musician and a solo artist; she fronted various Melbourne-based groups including Wendy Stapleton Band (1976–1978) and Wendy & the Rocketts (1980–1985) which had a top 30 hit single with "Play the Game" in June 1983.

In early 1983, the band recorded their debut album, Dazed for Days, in the . The album peaked at number 26 in Australia and several singles were released, the most successful, "Play the Game," hit number 28 in June. A&M released Dazed for Days in the . and Europe and Wendy and the Rocketts toured in September 1983, supporting such acts as Bryan Adams and ZZ Top. In November 1984, Amenta was replaced by John Dallimore on guitar while Beare was replaced by Brian Hamilton on bass. The band continued to tour but broke up in March 1985.
