Alexander is the first solo album by American musician Alex Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Ima Robot. It was released on March 1, 2011 under the Community Records label. The song "Truth" was featured in the season 4 premiere of AMC's Breaking Bad titled "Box Cutter". Alex Ebert produced the album during breaks from his work with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Ima Robot. He played all the instruments on the album himself.

But Alexander, I’ll never forget the first Time I saw your face. I have never been the same Intelligent eyes in a hunger-pang frame And when you said Hi, I forgot my dang name Set my heart aflame, ev’ry part aflame. This is not a game. You strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied. I’m sure I don’t know what you mean. You’re like me. I’m never satisfied. Is that right? I have never been satisfied. My name is Angelica Schuyler. Alexander Hamilton  . Peach fuzz, and he can’t even grow it! I wanna take him far away from this place Then I turn and see my sister’s face and she is. Helpless. And I know she is.

Talk about Alexander Hope - Never Can Get Away

Chankane
Well, that review from 1997 hasn't aged particularly well has it? It's clear that this is vintage Blaze, right up there with the Black Rascals joints on Sumo. Josh Milan's vocals sound like hot, buttered soul.

OMG, I can't believe how cheap this record is selling for today. One of Blaze's best production. A dance floor killer for all soulfull and deep headz !!

Never Can Get Away is definitely one of my favorite Blaze productions. It could have been released on Sumo 2 or 3 years earlier. I don't know the story behind this record but I would bet it has been produced at least 2 years before its release. You get that deep NY house sound you can find on Blaze productions of the 93-96 era. Blaze at its best!

(review written in 1997) Slip n Slide is usually one fo those labels you can just pick up without listening to it, knowing you'll get quality jazzy house. (Remember Blak N'Spanish, Looose, TNT, and of course 95 North pres. the Beltway Bandits)? Unfortunately this is one which suffers from the Vocal From Hell. Of the three different Klubbheads mixes, not one is a real dub; especially a shame since the track has a superb sax sample. No surprises if you leave this one on the shelf.
