Freak Show is the second studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair. It was recorded between May and November 1996 and released on 4 February 1997 by record labels Murmur and Epic. It was nominated for the 1997 ARIA Music Award for Best Group, but lost to Savage Garden. Silverchair began recording their second studio album, Freak Show, in May 1996 while experiencing the success of their debut album, 1995's Frogstomp, in Australia and the US.

The five guys in Freak Wave have been around the punk scene for a bit. Check the promo pic. There’s more hair on their chins than on top of their heads, and though they probably still worry when a pair of Vans start falling apart they are getting to the age of worrying about how much super they have. But that’s cool, the Melbourne band have done time in some of the best melodic punks bands of the last decade including Blueline Medic, A Death in the Family, Mid Youth Crisis and Kill Whitey.
