Solo is the debut solo album by East 17 singer Brian Harvey. The album was released in late 2001 in Japan only, although imported copies found their way to record shops in the UK. Two singles were released prior to the album's release; "Straight Up (No Bends)" and "Loving You (Ole Ole Ole)" which featured Wyclef Jean. Alone With You" (Featuring Lea Callaway). Brian Harvey, the second least attractive member of East 17, is now primarily remembered for his jacket potato addiction. But he managed to sneak out this forgotten club banger in 2001. Straight Up (No Bends) sadly isn’t about the dangers of scuba diving, it’s just Brian whinging about not having a girlfriend. After reaching number 26 on the UK singles chart, Straight Up (No Bends) went straight down again, and Brian’s solo album, catchily titled Solo, was quietly shelved.

It was produced by John Leckie, and engineered by Nigel Godrich, who has produced all of Radiohead's subsequent studio albums. It was the first Radiohead album with cover art by Stanley Donwood, who, with singer Thom Yorke, has produced all of Radiohead's artwork since.
