Floyd Brown hails from the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area and started his music career in his early teens st record at age 14. Floyd then started performing with his band, The Emeralds. In the 1980s Floyd released the critically acclaimed album After Hours on Magnum Records. Kiss Me Just One More Time from that album charted nationally. Floyd then progressed to recording for MCA Records and performing on national TV.
