following to capture the market with this, their fifth studio album. Although lead guitarist Peter Frampton was replaced by Clem Clemson - an excellent player - the band remained essentially the same. Led by singer/guitarist Steve Marriott's soulful wail, the group enjoyed a huge hit from this record, "30 Days in the Hole" - the track which defined the Pie's not-so-subtle appeal. The title track of Humble Pie’s ninth album kicks off our list much like a gutter-dwelling rodent: tentatively poking its whiskers into the wind before diving headlong into yesterday’s lunch meat. For his part, Marriott clearly took Frampton’s exit in stride, because Humble Pie’s first outing without the latter – 1972’s aptly-named ‘Smokin’’ – went on to become the band’s biggest-selling album up to that point in time.

Talk about Humble Pie - Smokin'

Brick my own
One of the best rock bands ever came out of UK and this record encapsulates most of their work but do not expect the usual Analogue Productions quality. Apparently original recordings were much worse and this is the best you can get but be warned..

Absolutely the best I've ever heard this album, and I've been listening to it since its release. In fact, as much as I love this album, I've rarely been satisfied with the sound of the various copies I've had over the years. This one sounds great. If you've never heard this album, it's one of the best examples of '70s British Blues Rock you could ask for. I'm no Rock critic, so I'll just say it rocks, and leave it at that.
