Absence is the third album by alternative hip hop group Dälek, released by Ipecac Recordings in 2005. The album, according to the group, was recorded during a very dark and pessimistic time period for the group, which in turn resulted in the recording's dark, bleak sound. All tracks written by MC Dälek, Oktopus and Joshua Booth. Upon its initial release in 2005, Absence received praise from many publications. Critics praised the album for its brooding sound and thought provoking lyrics.

Lore City, the alternative rock duo comprised of Laura Mariposa and Eric Bessel, release 'Kill Your Dreams', their second album. The album was co-released by Already Dead Tapes and 1980 Records in LPMP3 format. Kill Your Dreams is a follow-up to their debut album, Absence Time. It's worth noting, as Lore City remind me of a time when staying up late to watch Twin Peaks was the definitive moment in the week you lived for. There was something achingly experiential and jaunting about it. But, as with most things that inject your senses, it gets into your being and starts becomin. ddictive.

Lore City is the nomadic indie rock duo of Laura Mariposa and Eric Bessel.

Lore City is releasing as a new record this Spring called, Kill Your Dreams offered on Vinyl LP on Already Dead Tapes (Chicago/Kalamazoo) and 1980 Records (Chicago). This is their first release since their premier offering called, Absence & Time. They have released a teaser track from the new album called, Gone Past. It has a very 80′s vibe with full orchestral synths throughout that blend nicely with melancholy distorted guitars. The female lead vocals by Laura Mariposa are very Portishead in style, almost operatic, and full of emotion. Her voice is etherial and speaks to part of you.
