Show Boat (1959 studio cast album) is a studio recording of the 1927 musical Show Boat by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II. The album was recorded in the summer of 1959 at the N. studio, Abbey Road, London, and issued by the 'His Master's Voice' label, a subsidiary of EMI, which was run at this time by Norman Newell. It features a cast that was formed for this recording only; this cast did not perform the show live in any theatre production.

British archival label Pearl's The Ultimate Show Boat gathers recordings of music from the musical Show Boat made between 1925 and 1947. The earlier date, of course, is two years before Show Boat opened on Broadway; it refers to a Henry Burr recording of the sentimental standard "After the Ball," which was interpolated into the show. It's not so much an ultimate Show Boat as it is a collector's Show Boat; though, come to think of it, there's already been an album by that title.
