The Score is the second and final studio album by the hip hop trio Fugees, released worldwide February 13, 1996 on Columbia Records. The album features a wide range of samples and instrumentation, with many aspects of alternative hip hop that would come to dominate the hip hop music scene in the mid-late 1990s.

Greatest Hits is the only compilation album released by Fugees. The album was released on March 25, 2003, by the group's former record label, Columbia Records. The album features a range of material from both of the group's studio albums, as well as previously unreleased material. The album's track listing in the United Kingdom was completely different from that of the . Vocab (Refugees Hip Hop Mix)".

Although the Fugees' previous album Blunted on Reality proved to be critically and commercially unsuccessful, Chris Schwartz, head of Ruffhouse Records, decided to give the group another chance. The third and final single released for the album was "Ready or Not", released September 2, 1996. In the US the song was the least successful of all the singles from the album, only peaking at number 34 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart. It found far more success in Europe, especially in the UK where it became their second number 1 in the Official Singles Chart, staying at the top for two weeks. The track interpolates "Ready.

Ready Or Not was released as the follow-up to the group’s massive chart topping R&B hit Killing Me Softly. With verses from all three Fugees, this song was more indicative of the trio’s hip-hop sound than their breakout hit. It was a minor Billboard success in the US (peaking at while topping the UK pop chart. Vibe reported that the Fugees' Ready or Not video helped usher in the era of bank-breaking, movie-like hip hop videos. The video featured helicopters, explosions, sharks, chase scenes, and a price tag of . million US dollars. In justifying the cost, Pras told Vibe People want to see drama, man.

The vocal was sampled from Method Man & Red Man - How High. The original vocal doesn't say the word "Fuckers" - it's actually the N word! But the way it is sampled and beeped makes you think and tricks your ears into hearing it as "Fuckers" though. You could always do your own edit if you want an unclean version.

FOR THE RECORD: DJ Hype did NOT produce ANY of the Fugees Remixes: They were all produced by DJ ZINC. However, if I am not mistaken, DJ Hype did help DJ Zinc with the bassline on one version of the remixes. Sadly there were tons of bootlegs of these remixes released with DJ Hype's name on it. Even MixMags Best Dance Albums of the year mistakenly credited DJ Hype. #TheMoreYouKnow

Samples Ready or Not in the first break and Killing Me Softly in the second. Nice idea, but unfortunately beats and basslines aren´t as fat as in the original Zinc version, bassline sounds a bit "dwarfy" adn all a bit uninspired like a lot of Aphro´s tune past 96/97

It seems there are hundreds of variations of this 12". Mines says "Fugees DJ Hype Remix" (yes I know it should be credited to Zinc) with the run out imprinted with "FOS 001- 01-01-1". Single side, label written in pen. Do I bother listing or adding cover art?Kinda disappointed that the "clean" version of the track was used with bleep for the naughty words. The track clocks in at about 7m 18s. I love it for the bass though.

On it's release in 1996 this was one of the most highly sought after white label Drum & Bass tracks going. 3000 copies were initially pressed before Sony clamped down and said no further copies should be released. But the track was then bootlegged multiple times. The Fugees eventually heard the track, but no agreement was made to release it officially as they didn't like their music being sampled.In 2014 Rinse released the track on their label - http://www.discogs.com/Zinc-ugeez-Or-Not-138-Trek/release/6114821Over the years many debates have been had over the producer of the track - DJ Zinc, DJ Hype and Aphrodite. But Zinc has commented that he made the track, but DJ Hype was heavily responsible for the bass, with his track 'Hello Lover' as the influence.A couple of alternative mixes Zinc made of this track are on Bandcamp (digital only).
