Mondo Rock was an Australian rock band formed in November 1976 by singer-songwriter, Ross Wilson (ex-Daddy Cool). They're best known for their second album, Chemistry which was released in July 1981 and peaked at number 2 on the Australian Kent Music Report. Their song "Come Said the Boy" peaked at number 2 in Australia in 1983. The group disbanded in 1991, although they have periodically undertaken reunion concerts

Mondo Rock were an 80s institution in popular Australian rock, a big draw on the live circuit who charted numerous hits. The band was formed in late 1976 by frontman Ross Wilson and went through various line-up changes to start with. They reform from time to time to play (including in April 2007).

With the breakup of Daddy Cool in 1975, guitarist Ross Wilson, who had become a fixture on the Australian music scene, formed his own label with Little River Band manager Glenn Wheatley. Within a year, Wilson had released his first single and put together the initial lineup of Mondo Rock, but despite securing a following for live performances, the group split before issuing any material. It wasn't until mid-1978 that Mondo Rock, with Wilson helming a new incarnation, released a single with "The Fugitive Kind. However, the album made little impact and Wilson pulled the plug on Mondo Rock to pursue other projects.

In 1990 Mondo Rock reconvened and recorded the group's sixth studio album, Why Fight It?, which was issued in November 1990. Three singles were released from the album, "Why Fight It?", "I Had You in Mind" and "Soul Reason" 1991-present: After disbandment. After disbanding Mondo Rock, Wilson initially formed RAW with Barry Deenik on bass guitar; Michael Sheridan on guitar (ex-No); and Craig Waugh on drums (ex-Uncanny X-Men). They performed on the pub rock circuit until 1993 and then Wilson continued.
