This album was compiled by myself Basement Phil. When I was running Vinyl Distribution and trying to break the new DnB sound that was emerging 'Jumpin & Pumpin' contacted me and asked if I would compile a series of Lps for them. I compiled 3 DnB Comps in total, compiled Jungle Tekno Volume Three - Drum 'N' The Bass - A Way Of Life, Jungle Tekno 5 - The Deep Side & Jungle Tekno 7 - Drum 'n' Bass - The Musical Style. Great Job Dude!!! - I love this compil series particularly because it brings me back to my feelings of that period... i collect D&B and early Jungle has a weak spot. I remember coming back from a wild Carouge party one night in August 1993 around 2 o'clock Sunday morning, walking not really sober back home into Geneva and at le Théâtre Pitoeff there was a kind of strange heavy bass, the only thing audible from the streets. Also there lied a few guys on the stairs and were seemingly sleeping... i went into the foyer... more dead bodies... went into the atrium to the "grande sale" with dozens of dead bodies... ans some moving in slow motion... I entered the hall and... was marveled with some ultra deep bass and snares... the memorable moment I discovered D&B. I love it since then (oky I listen to a very broad range of music). D&B with heavy bass, heavy snare, high pitched voices and floating are my fav.

What I love about this comp (and the rest of the Jungle Tekno series) is it's not full of the usual rinsed out anthems so common in comps from the mid nineties. Every track is of the highest standard and the sound quality & mastering is top notch. If I was being picky, I would have prefered to have Heavy Vibes instead of Pulse Of Life on there as it's one of my absolute favourites from bitd.
