Who knows what version of the word "limp" this group is referring to with their name, but their first record, Orion, proves that they aren't limp and that they don't limp.

Orion is the 11th studio album by singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, released on May 18, 2010, on Adams' own record label PAX AM. Described as Adams' first "fully-realized sci-fi metal concept album," Orion was released on a limited vinyl run, and could only be purchased from the PAX AM online store. There are no plans for a wide release, but as of November 4, 2010, Adams' new site paxamrecords.

Not surprisingly, Limp approach the band angle from the perspective of players weaned on electronic music, which is to say, the six-cut, 30-minute EP Orion is immediately recognizable as post-rock. But we're not talking about tense, Slint-derived, Chicago-style post-rock. Rather, Orion utilizes a prettier and more refined European approach, without a hint of any jazz background

Orion kicks off with Towards, a beautiful opener that builds into a multi-layered piece of sparse guitar chords floating over a shifting rhythm section of soft breakbeats and reversed cymbals. From there on in, the disc simply ebbs and flows with a comforting state of warmth throughout the six tracks here.
