On the Ropes is the debut album by British electronica duo Mint Royale, released in 1999 on the Faith & Hope label. In June 2001, a new version of the album was published for the . market by MCA Records, featuring a different cover (with a close-up photo of a pinball machine) and a different track list.

Complete your Mint Royale collection. This album is really refreshing. Beats, horns, keyboards and other synths are very well structured and all of these elements give birth to an enjoyable CD. I am a bit less excited concerning tracks featuring female artists, including "Don't Falter", "Rock And Roll Bar" and "Lonely Girl".

Mint Royale was the alias of electronic music producer Neil Claxton and, until 2004, a duo consisting of himself and Chris Baker, originating from Manchester, England. It was founded by Claxton and Baker in 1997. Baker left the band in 2004, but Claxton continued to produce music under the pseudonym "Mint Royale" until 2016. Mint Royale first specialised in remixes, and became known after the release of their mix of "Tequila" by Terrorvision

But here are Mint Royale, spinning off of a trapeze (ooh), putting their heads in the lion's mouth (ahhh), and yes, walking that nefarious tightrope between overjoyed good times and drunken annoyance

Mint Royale is a big beat electronic music act from Manchester, England. It was originally founded by the duo of Neil Claxton and Chris Baker; the latter left the band in 2004, but Claxton continued to produce music using the Mint Royale name. They are widely known for their remixes. Notably "Singin' In The Rain", which made in the UK in 2008 after the song was used by dancer George Sampson on the hit show Britain's Got Talent.
