Legendes D'or de la Chanson, Vol. 1 is a collection of French pop music ranging from the '20s to the '60s. It is performed in the theatrical, jazz-influenced style of the time, which was quite similar to American vocal pop from the period. The difference is the dry, sensual singing style, which was more acceptable in Europe. But this is by no means a bad album, just an album that may be hard to get into for someone unfamiliar with the genre.
