Eg & Alice was the proverbial enigma wrapped in a mystery of the early '90s British music scene, not only because its musical sensibility stood at such odds with the rest of its Britpop peers but also because the duo either avoided or retreated from the spotlight at every step along its career path.

In 1990, Eg White collaborated with London model and BMX champion Alice Temple to record the critically acclaimed pop album 24 Years of Hunger, which was released in 1991 under the name Eg and Alice and failed to chart In 1992 White produced the debut, self-titled album by Kinky Ma. .Indian" c/w "Crosstown and Bobby and Holly" (WEA Records 1991) - did not chart.
