Ricardo Castro Herrera (Rafael de la Santísima Trinidad Castro Herrera) (7 February 1864 – 27 November 1907) was a Mexican concert pianist and composer, considered the last romantic of the time of Porfirio Díaz. Castro was born at Hacienda de santa Bárbara, Durango. His father, Vicente Castro, was a deputy congressman; his mother was María de Jesús Herrera. Castro began his music education with Pedro H. Ceniseros.

His career began with a 1987 ex-aequo win at the International Competition of the ARD in Munich. Castro is the founder of NEOJIBA (State Centers of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Bahia), a pioneering program in Brazil inspired by Venezuela's El Sistema. He was invited by the government of the State of Bahia to create The Youth Orchestra of Bahia (YOBA), of which he is principal conductor and artistic director.
