Open Road is the debut solo album by British singer-songwriter Gary Barlow. It was released by BMG and RCA Records on 26 May 1997 in Europe, and on 13 January 1998 in America. Following the break-up of Take That, Barlow went straight into the recording studio and began recording a solo album. Traces of his musical heroes - Van Morrison, Gram Parsons and Tim Buckley - could be heard in songs such as ‘Walk Slowly Through This Life’ and ‘The Queen Of Broken Dreams’. During the same year Hall also produced Porch Songs for his fiancée, Cathryn Craig.

They're not even the best James Potter-centric fanfic I've ever read. But they're not bad, as long as you can keep yourself from beating your head against a wall over his utter and insulting disregard for canon and the world he's working in. Which, believe me, is a real test of will at times. Still, as much as his attitude about fanfic and the fanfic nature of his own story irritates me, it's a decently entertaining read.
