Evan Cattanach, who has died at the age of 80, spent the last 20 years or so of his life in the US, but will forever be associated with Scotland, Scotch whisky and the distilleries that make the spirit he did so much to celebrate. Evan ran Cragganmore from 1980 to 1983, but was most strongly associated with another Speyside plant, Cardhu, which he managed for a 10-year stint from 1983.
