After the release of their album -Black Ships- earlier this year Tokyo Black Star Cybersamurais Alex and Isao are returning to the Mothership Innervisions with their new 12 inch. On the B-Side Radio Slave delivers a fantastic remix of -Caballero- which transfers the repetitive and hypnotic patterns he is known for with an exotic more cosmic sounding touch. All in all we think that this is definitely the best Tokyo Black Star release we ever had in our hands.

Tokyo Black Star’s Psyche Dance EP became the very first release of Berlin label Innervisions in 2005 (Innervisions released four other Tokyo Black Star EPs as well as their debut album Black Ships in April 2009). The group has handed down EPs for Dj Deep’s Deeply Rooted House records and Slam Jam’s Reincarnation label, as well as remixes for such legendary artists as Tony Allen, Carl Craig (Planet E’s 20th anniversary Psyche Neurotic Behavior on Planet E, 2011), Phenomenal Handclap Band (Tummy Touch Records, 2013), Kuniyuki (mule music), and Bing Ji Ling (Lovemonk), and their. Already nicknamed by his music friends as world famous, Alex made it his brand name in 2002

The first EP, Edo Express, is a new effort from Tokyo Black Star, who are now a trio. Alex From Tokyo is launching a new label called World Famous. Alex Prat is well-known as a DJ and curator, and also produces as one-half of Tokyo Black Star with Isao Kumano. The duo famously provided the very first release on Innervisions, and have also appeared on Deeply Rooted. They've been silent since 2013, when they appeared on a Yohji Yamamoto compilation. With Edo Express and the new imprint, they're making a comeback of sorts.

Tokyo Black Star really started around 2000, but even in ’98, I had done a couple of little remix projects with my partner Isao. I basically coordinated the Japanese side of that, and we did a remix for that project. That would explain why the Edo Express EP is World Famous 002. Yes! Anyway, it did take me a while to find my own path with the label. Until this latest EP, Tokyo Black Star had been a bit quiet for a while. Was there any reason for the hiatus? After the album came out in 2009, we met some audiophiles in Tokyo and started to collaborate with them. In the summer of 2010, we all started an audio brand called Phonon; I represent the brand outside Japan from here in New York.
