Excavation is the second studio album by The Haxan Cloak, released on Tri Angle Records on April 16, 2013. Excavation received acclaim from music critics. Pitchfork named Excavation the 29th best album of 2013, and Rolling Stone called it the 16th best dance album of 2013.

Bobby Krlic (born 1985), known by his stage name The Haxan Cloak, is a British musician and producer. Krlic was born and raised in Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England. He studied music and visual arts at the University of Brighton. Krlic recorded the first, self-titled Haxan Cloak album in his parents' shed over the course of three years using strings, mics and a laptop, playing every instrument himself.

The Haxan Cloak's self-titled debut album traced the journey of a character who was dying, and there was a morbid beauty to its drooping strings, rattling percussion, and dragging tempos, all of which were shrouded in the subtlest electronic drones.

With Excavation, London-based electronic producer Bobby Krlic, aka the Haxan Cloak, offers a multifaceted roadmap of the afterlife. The record, his first for Tri Angle, is about the journey taken after death, and it's bold and domineering, the kind of music that towers over you and casts a giant, intimidating shadow. With Excavation, London-based electronic producer Bobby Krlic, aka the Haxan Cloak, offers a multifaceted roadmap of the afterlife. Featured Tracks: Play Track. This is an album that seeks to explore a shifting in spiritual planes, and the music reflects this by twisting its source material into something entirely other.

Talk about The Haxan Cloak - Excavation

Coirad
This is 100% ASMR,bass head fuckery, I'd write more but my eyes have rolled back in my head and I can no longer see my keyboard.
Ber
„Sides A, B and C play at 45 RPM, side D plays at 33 RPM.“ – Is that correct? On all four labels is written 33 rpm.
Tansino
Side B has to be played at 33 rpm as the song "Mara" lasts only 2 minutes at 45 rpm. It should last 3 minutes. Thus the labelling seems to be correct and the data here on discogs incorrect,
Throw her heart
Man, does this album sound fantastic on vinyl, and these are thicker pressings than I would have expected.
