Their second album, Beauty Stab, was released in November 1983, produced by Gary Langan who was the engineer on The Lexicon of Love. It performed poorly in comparison to its predecessor, peaking at No. 12. The first single from the album, "That Was Then but This Is Now", briefly appeared in the UK Top 20, followed by a Top 40 showing for "SOS". In 1989, the duo issued Up, their fifth and final PolyGram studio album. This time experimenting with house music, ABC scored a minor UK hit with the single "One Better World". Vice Versa is an electronic band that formed in Sheffield, England. Vice Versa originally consisted of Stephen Singleton, Mark White, Ian Garth, and David Sydenham, the former two of whom would go on to later found the successful 1980s pop band ABC. The band was active from 1977 to 1980 with the aforementioned line-up, and reformed in 2015 without Garth and Sydenham. Vice Versa are considered as one of the "Big Four" late-1970s minimalistic ed bands from Sheffield.

In 1978 the NME described Sheffield's Vice Versa as. .a bizarro trio who show occasional flashes of promise, but whose pretentiousness becomes quite tiresome" ;so one simply had to investigate further. I lived near Sheffield as a young teenager and took part in the local 'yoof' radio show on BBC Radio Sheffield when I was 13/14 so on the back of that I pretty much got to see all the Sheffield bands at the time - some great like Hula, In The Nursery, Chakk and obviously the Cabs - and some not so great like.
