On The Last Waltz, Dylan resurrects a couple of songs from the 1966 tour, 'Baby Let Me Follow You Down' and 'I Don't Believe You (She Acts like We Never Have Met). Both are sung in the kind of talk-song the singer used on Hard Rain, and the Band's playing is full-blooded, eloquent and forceful. In its hoarse fierceness, 'I Don't Believe You' even evokes the spooky intensity of Dylan's voice in 1966.

The Last Waltz doesn’t just document The Band’s final performance-it’s a living biography of the roots-rock legends. Beyond the eeling romps through classics like Up On Cripple Creek, it corrals an all-star cast of mentors, including blues great Muddy Waters (on a gloriously swampy Mannish Boy ) and fellow ’60s-Toronto traveler Neil Young (on a heavenly Helpless ). A rip-roaring Baby Let Me Follow You Down reaffirms how The Band always brought the freewheeling best out of former boss Bob Dylan. The Last Waltz The Band.
