Spooky Tooth's mellow, easy blues-rock sound is experienced from the first track, a slick rendition of John D. Loudermilk's "Tobacco Road. Most of the band's peak material is included here, like "Better by You, Better by Me" and "Evil Woman. The dreamy, psychedelic-tinged "It's All About a Roundabout" is one of the album's best songs, proving the band could be adventurous at will. Much in the same manner is "As Long as the World Keeps Changing," with its hippie-like hallucinatory feel. Four of the 13 tracks on Island's The Best of Spooky Tooth come from 1969's Spooky Two album, while the remaining tracks represent the band's less celebrated material. I had read that "Spooky Tooth II" was an excellent album that was underappreciated. A significant part of that Album is on the 'Best of' Album'. What I read was correct, the Spooky II portion was excellent. The rest was good, with a few very good. Well worth the purchase. One person found this helpful.

The Best of Spooky Tooth: That Was Only Yesterday. Other albums by Spooky Tooth. This single-disc compilation tracks England's Spooky Tooth (led by Gary "Dream Weaver" Wright) between 1969 and 1973, when they cut five albums for A&M. There are three cuts taken from It's All About (including a great reading of "Tobacco Road"), seven from Spooky Two (including the big singles "Evil Woman" and "Waiting on the Wind"), a single excerpt from Ceremony, and a single cut from the band's final offering, You Broke My Heart, So I Busted Your Jaw, with the rest coming from The Last Puff.
