Lula Pena (born May 15, 1974) is a Portuguese fado singer, composer and poet from Lisbon, Portugal. As well as fado ("phado" as she prefers), Pena's music is strongly influenced by a range of other types of music, including chanson, flamenco and blues as well as music from Mexico, Greece and Italy. She describes herself as a "musical wanderer". She performed at WOMEX 14 Official Showcase Selection of World Music Expo in October 2014. Archivo Pittoresco (2017).

Portuguese "fadista" Lula Pena has decided to use only her voice and guitar for this project. While not unusual, it is the way she uses them both that is so extraordinary. She starts with a slow, simple song by Caetano Veloso, but already in the second (traditional) song, it becomes clear she will use both her voice and her guitar as imaginative and creative musical instruments.
